Take 5 in the Garden and run either a 5 Kilometer or a 5 Miler through Colorado Springs premier parks, the Garden of the Gods. Although no one is sure what the weather will be on that Saturday morning, you can be assured it will only add to enjoyment of your run. Come on out and have some fun. A special Runner at the 5k

One of the runners in the 5K on St. Patrick's day was Mackenzie Maher. She personifies the true spirit of a runner. Mackenzie did not finish first, but most importantly, she finished. We encourage everyone to watch the video at 5NewsFirst and take inspiration from her for your next race.

Jalalabad Jig and the 5k on St. Patrick's Day

Saturday was an incredible day, as the weather cooperated resulting in the 5K on St Patrick's Day being, literally, SOLD OUT! We apologize to those that were unable to run in the largest run in Colorado Springs, or were denied timing due to the lack of timing chips. We will endeavor to do better next year. Additional shirts have been ordered, please allow 3 weeks for them to be available.

We want to thank all of the volunteers that came out to register runners, cut and serve food, and to Billy Davis, Paul Petta and Ryan Haug for pouring and serving water.

Meanwhile, halfway around the world, about 200 Soldiers from Ft Carson participated in the Jalalabad Jig in concert with the Grand Prix. The weather in Colorado Springs is looking very promising for a great race day and it looks like a wonderful day in Afghanistan (with a high expected of 80F) for a foot race. We hope everyone has a good time, and a special wish for our soldiers participating in and supplying security for the Jalalabad Jig!

Join us at the Brooks Expo on Friday, March 12, from 3 to 9pm at the Runners Roost Store, 121 N Tejon. Pick up your package and enjoy snacks, beverage & music before your race! Brooks will hold drawings and giveaways of Shoes and Apparel.

We were a bit worried that the t-shirts for the Jalalabad Jig were not going to get to Afghanistan in time, but somehow, the deliveries were mad in a most timely manner. These men and women were excited to get all the goodies sent to them.

We are excited to have some very special runners for the St Patrick's Run. Although they will not be on Tejon Street with us on that day, they will be with us in spirit. They are Soldiers from Ft Carson, currently serving in Jalalabad, Afghanistan. In their honor, we have created special t-shirts which are being sent to these fine men and women that will be running in the Jalalbad Jig!
